ABSTRACT

Objective:Based on the current medical environment, to learn about cognition status of doctor-patient relationship among medical students and analyze causes of the tension between doctors and patients. Methods:Using the self-designed questionnaire "Clinical Medical Students' Cognition Survey on Occupational Status and Doctor-Patient Relationship", a cross-sectional survey was conducted on 527 medical students from 5-year and 7-year clinical program in Batch 2014 in a medical university in Heilongjiang Province. The survey mainly analyzed the causes of the tension between doctors and patients from the level of medical staff, patients and their families, hospitals and society. SPSS 22.0 was used for descriptive statistics and chi-square test. Results:The results showed that 93.7% of the medical students believed that the current doctor-patient relationship was not harmonious. There were cognitive differences among medical students in different gender ( P=0.029), first contact clinical grade ( P=0.003) and professional identity ( P<0.001). Conclusion:Medical students have a poor evaluation towards the current doctor-patient relationship. In order to construct harmonious doctor-patient relationship in the future, we can try to take measures such as carrying out relevant courses of doctor-patient communication, improving the medical students' communication skills and enhancing their professional identity.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To systematically review the teaching effects of flipped classroom (FC) in undergraduate medical education in China. Methods:Such databases as CNKI, VIP Data, and WanFang, were electronically searched for literature of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on FC versus lecture-based learning (LBL) applied in medical education in China up to March, 2018. The included literature were evaluated for the quality, and RevMan5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 26 RCTs were included in the study, including 4 249 students, of whom the FC group had 2 135 cases, while LBL group had 2 114 cases. The students in FC group got significantly higher scores than those of the students in LBL group in the theoretical scores (WMD = 7.81, 95%CI = 5.18 -10.43, P < 0.05), skills tests (WMD = 4.69, 95%CI = 0.65 -8.73, P < 0.05). Conclusion:The FC can significantly improve the teaching results in undergraduate medical education.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the learning cognition and demand of medical college undergraduates for statistics course and its teaching effect, so as to better carry out the teaching work of statistics course and provide better teaching experience.@*Methods@#A total of 319 undergraduates from 11 medical universities and colleges who had finished statistics course were involved to conduct a questionnaire survey by using the online questionnaire survey method.@*Results@#The senior undergraduates (grade 3, grade 4, grade 5) participated in statistic course accounted for a large proportion of 94.60%; 61.90% subjects thought the course was difficult. For undergraduate public health majors and non-public health majors, more than 90% considered that it was necessary to set up the corresponding statistics courses; about 4.00% did not like the corresponding statistics courses; 75.87%, 69.52% and 50.16% thought that "teaching method", "teaching content" and "class schedule" were the main reason influencing the statistics course, respectively; and 61.9% thought that case teaching was the best way to master the course. The results also showed that all subjects had a common comprehending of statistical theory and a poor comprehending of software operation skills. About 90% of the research subjects had requirement for theoretical knowledge or software operation.@*Conclusion@#Colleges and universities should make theoretical courses more targeted, increase the proportion of case teaching, strengthen the teaching of software operation skills and appropriately set up corresponding training courses, to solve the problem that it is difficult to achieve satisfactory teaching effect.

ABSTRACT

To train health supervision talents , one of the scarce talent cultivation plans of National Health and Family Planning Commission, the undergraduate of health supervision was set up by Harbin Medical University and approved by the Ministry of education in 2012. According to the problems of personnel training, the competency model of health supervision was established through empirical research, which covered six aspects and 33 factors, and based on the model, the personnel training model was developed to cultivate the compound health supervision talents to meet the demand of health supervision, and the curriculum system covered medical, law, supervision and management courses. In order to realize the target of talent training, some viable measures were taken such as re-forming the traditional teaching methods, establishing comprehensive teachers, strengthening teacher training, and so on.
